Overall condition: Good. The inscription is legible and the memorial is well cared for.

Description:

Originally a cast bronze plaque with a plain pediment and moulded cornice at the head, supported by a golf club and ball to each side and with a moulded cornice at the foot. The inscription and WW1 names are in mixed styles of raised upright capital lettering, with the names arranged in two columns. Later, a further oblong bronze plaque was added below, supported by a pair of brackets. This had palm fronds in a panel to each side, with an inscription and names in a similar style and the names arranged in three columns.

History
10th December, 1921: The WW1 memorial was unveiled by Mr G Herbert Strutt, president of the club and dedicated by Rev E A Causton, vicar of Duffield. The memorial is thought to have been inside the clubhouse at that time.

1940s: The WW2 plaque was added.

Unknown date: The clubhouse was rebuilt and the memorial was remounted outside.

27th November 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Anne Branson. It was in good condition and well cared for.
