Location details:
The memorial is wall-mounted in the entrance area of the old Butterley Hall which now forms one of a cluster of buildings all known generically as Butterley Hall and forming the headquarters of the Derbyshire Constabulary. Coach Road is a private road accessed from the eastern end of the A610 Ripley Bypass. The area is not open to the public.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

A limestone tablet in an oaken frame. The horizontal oblong tablet has hollowed borders and the inscription is incised in upright capital roman lettering infilled in black.

History
1940s: The memorial is presumed to have been unveiled in Full Street Police Station.

25th May, 1988: Butterley Hall was listed Grade II, Heritage List for England number 1109013.

c2000: Full Street Police Station closed and the memorial is presumed to have been moved to Butterley Hall at about that time.

11th August, 2014: The memorial was surveyed at Butterley Hall by Roy Branson and Eric Naden with the kind permission and co-operation of the Chief Constable. It was in fair condition.
