Location details:
There are at least four Chesterfield Roads in this locality This is the southern section of the old road (not the A617) near the junction with Park View. The memorial is in front of the club building, facing the road.

Overall condition: Good. The inscription is legible.

Description:

A granite ashlar monument comprising a cenotaph on a pedestal and base. The main pillar is oblong in plan, vertical sided and steps in towards the tomb at the top. It has a victors’ laurel wreath in relief at the head of the 6 o'clock face, and the inlaid inscription towards the foot in black upright capital roman lettering. The pedestal has a stepped top surmounted by a moulded cushion stone to the pillar and surmounts a granite plinth and concrete base.

11th February, 1987: The memorial lies in the Pleasley Village Conservation Area first designated on that date.

23rd March, 1989: The memorial was listed Grade II, Heritage List for England number 1335431.

18th August, 2008: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in good condition.
