Location details:
The church is at the rear of the Parish Centre. The memorial is towards the northwest corner of the graveyard.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An addition to the lettering on a headstone on a family grave. The tall sandstone headstone has a moulded border, a pointed arch top with a depiction of a hand pointing upwards in relief in a crescent shaped panel at the head. The incised inscription is in upright capital roman lettering.

14th September, 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Anne Branson. It was in fair condition.

Comments
Pte Harold Lane is buried here so this is not a war memorial to him - it is his war grave, recognised as such by the CWGC. Pte Thomas Cuthbert Lane is buried at Vis-en-Artois Cemetery between Arras and Cambrai, therefore this is a war memorial to him.
