Overall condition: Good. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An oaken panelled reredos with niches and a wide central panel under a projecting head. The niches, originally empty, now contain brass crosses and candlesticks. The face of the head has pierced tracery below a swan-neck moulding with a central finial in the form of a potent cross. A rail at mid-height bears the inscription in decorative upright capital lettering in relief.

History
1920-21: The chancel was closed for reconstruction and the reredos was installed during that time. It was a gift of the parents of Capt Greaves.

1st June, 1921: Sir Edwyn Hoskins, Bishop of Southwell, dedicated the reredos.

13th March, 1968: The church was listed Grade II, Heritage List for England number 1088299. The reredos is mentioned in the listing description.

2nd September, 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition.
