Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


A freestanding sandstone tablet accompanying a further tablet, formerly a CWGC headstone. The tablet has a flat top, a battered face stepped at the foot and an incised inscription in upright capital roman lettering. The former CWGC headstone is one of a group relocated from their respective war graves elsewhere in the churchyard and is of upright form with a shallow arch top, the badge of the Seaforth Highlanders in relief in a roundel at the head, an incised cross at the foot, and an incised inscription in upright capital roman lettering.

Unknown date: The headstone was removed from the grave and relocated to its present position.

17th April, 1951: The memorial lies within the Peak District National Park designated on that date.

2nd September, 1981: The memorial lies within the Tideswell Conservation Area first designated on that date.

27th April, 2017: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition.
