Location details:
The church is on the north side of the road in the centre of the village. The gravestone is west of the church.
Type
Overall type: Addition to gravestone.


Overall condition: Poor. The inscription is difficult to read.


Description:

An addition to the lettering on a stone on a family grave. The tall limestone headstone has a pointed arch top with a plain border and ivy leaves with an open book in relief in a trefoil panel at the head, the book bearing the words THY WILL BE DONE. The inscription is inlaid in upright capital block and gothic lettering and the maker's name is inlaid at the foot.

History and Conservation
Unknown date: The memorial was made by F Spencer, monumental mason.

July, 1971: The memorial lies within the Brassington Conservation Area first designated in that month.

2nd March, 2009: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in poor condition: although the headstone was intact, and not too weathered, much of the lettering was missing from the inscription.
