Location details:
Although Boulton-by-Derby is the historical name, it is today just known as Boulton, and although widely considered to be part of Alvaston it is an ecclesiastical parish in its own right.
The church is on the north side of the road, the gravestone is near the centre of the churchyard, west of the church.

Overall type: Addition to gravestone.


Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

Lettering added to a headstone on a family grave. The white marble headstone has a nowy-headed frieze at the top decorated with a guilloche pattern at the centre, fleurons at the sides, and garlands hanging from the centre and extending down the face of pilasters to each side. The central panel has an inlaid inscription in upright capital lettering with RAF wings in relief at the centre. The headstone surmounts a plain oblong base.
