Description:

An oblong stone tablet, possibly limestone or white marble, now located on a family grave but probably previously located elsewhere. The polished black granite gravestone comprises a plain latin cross on a three-stepped base accompanied by kerbs. The recumbent tablet, and its limestone base or backboard is placed centrally on the grave, spanning between the side kerbs. The tablet is of completely different materials and design from the gravestone and has fixing holes in each corner, suggesting that it was once wall-mounted elsewhere, but the location is unknown. The tablet has a broad border of foliage in relief between two thin lines and the inscription is incised in mixed styles of mainly capital lettering.

History
4th May 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. Although the gravestone was intact and the inscription legible, it was judged to be in poor condition because the whole structure was leaning and because it was difficult to access due to almost impenetrable thickets of bramble, nettles and willowherb.
