Location details:
The parish church signboard clearly identifies the village as Great Barlow but maps and other references refer to it as just Barlow. The grave is about 20m west of the church.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An addition to the inscription on a family gravestone comprising a white marble latin cross on a three stepped base with bevelled top, and a plinth. The faces of the steps bear inlaid inscriptions in mixed styles of upright capital lettering.

History
July 1979: The churchyard lies within the Barlow Conservation Area first designated on that date.

17th August 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition although the top step had a deep crack in it and the surface of the memorial was coated with a fine grey film which made the inscription difficult to read.
