Location details:
The parish church signboard clearly identifies the village as Great Barlow but maps and other references refer to it as just Barlow. The grave is about 25m northwest of the church.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An addition to the inscription on the headstone of a family grave. The tall sandstone headstone has a pointed arch top with a moulded border and an incised inscription mainly in upright capital roman lettering. The headstone is accompanied by a recumbent granite tablet bearing a further inscription.
