A wall mounted brass plaque in an ornate wooden frame.
The nowy-headed plaque has a foliated border with a serpentine pattern and bears the incised inscription in upright capital uncial lettering coloured black.
The carved oak frame has an intricate frieze of crocketted finials at the head above a cornice bearing carved sprays of oak foliage in relief. The two side frames bear attached octagonal colonnettes, that on the left supporting a figure of a sailor in uniform and that on the right supporting a soldier in infantry uniform, each figure having a crocketed conical canopy above. The lower rail of the frame bears a design of repeated tracery with inverted dentiles above. The top of the centre panel bears a border of foliated tracery extending as an arch over the head of the plaque, where it is perforated.
The plaque is accompanied by a bugle and a laid up standard of the Royal British Legion.
