Description:

A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often utilising stones, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised a recessed central panel surrounded by an arch, all enclosed within a covered shelter.
The central panel depicted a full colour scene of a Red Cross field ambulance with a medical team dealing with a casualty and another infantryman standing nearby. In the background a biplane was flying by. An outer border in pale green contained depictions of various medals and the main text in black upright sentence case lettering. The arch contained a variety of images including the Red Cross, red poppies, crossed rifles and a steel helmet.

History and Conservation
Summer 2014: The dressing was designed and made by members of the local community.

11th July, 2014: The memorial was blessed by the local clergy.

12th July, 2014: The memorial was photographed by Glyn Williams.

18th July, 2014: The memorial was dismantled and the components salvaged for future use.
