Overall condition: Good. The inscription is legible.

Description:

An oblong brass plaque with a thin incised border on an oblong oaken backboard with chamfered edges. The incised inscription is in upright capital roman lettering. The inscription and border are infilled in black.

History
29th August, 1921: The plaque was unveiled at Ticknall Baptist Chapel by Rev Ivor Evans, former Pastor of Melbourne and Ticknall Baptist Churches..

17th November, 1972: The Ticknall Conservation Area was first designated, and includes the Baptist Chapel within its area.

6th January 1987: The Baptist Chapel was listed Grade II, Heritage List for England number 1203411.

1989: The Baptist Chapel was closed and the memorial was subsequently removed to storage.

2nd August 2014: The memorial was displayed in the parish hall where it was surveyed by Eric Naden. It was in good condition.
