Overall type: Addition to gravestone. Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An addition to the lettering on a family gravestone. The low white marble headstone has a rounded arch top, flat shoulders and recessed sides. The inlaid inscription is mainly in upright capital block lettering. The headstone surmounts an oblong base with bevelled top. The mason's name is inlaid at the foot of the headstone.

History and Conservation

c1912: The memorial was made by S. Morley, monumental mason.

18th April, 2018: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and the inscription was legible although the headstone was leaning forward.
