Description:
A temporary well dressing tableau traditionally made from vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame, but today often including pebbles, chippings, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised a pair of upright oblong panels with a frieze across the head. The left panel was multicoloured and contained a number of roundals depicting scouting themes but including the army and navy with poppies, and a black inscription in upright capital lettering. The right panel bore an image featuring a white dove of peace against a green landscape and radiating sun in a blue sky, with a brown inscription in upright capital block lettering.. The multicoloured frieze bore the main heading in upright capital block lettering.
The well dressing was displayed from 7th to 14th July 2018 and was subsequently dismantled.
