Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.

Description:
An inclined tablet on a stone pedestal. The tall, narrow limestone tablet is in the shape of an unfurled scroll and bears an inlaid inscription with names in a single columnn, mainly in upright capital block lettering. The oblong pedestal is of roughly-dressed red sandstone.

History and Conservation
|
1920s: The memorial is believed to have been provided in or near the scout hut.
Unknown date: The site was sold and redeveloped for residential purposes. The memorial was removed to the Baptist church for temporary safekeeping.
Unknown date: The memorial was removed to the community garden.
16th July 2003: The memorial lies within the Belper and Milford Conservation Area last modified on that date. Article 4 restrictions may apply to the site.
December 2001: The memorial lies within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site inscribed in that month.
15th January, 2009: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for.
19th July, 2018: The memorial was resurveyed by Roy Branson. It was in fair condition and cared for although some lettering was missing from the inscription.
