The church is within the grounds of the Midland Railway Centre at Swanwick Junction and is accessible from Coach Rd at Riddings. The roll of honour is on the north wall inside the church, near the pulpit.

Overall type: Roll of honour Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.


Description:

A roll of honour in a glazed wooden frame. The paper roll of honour is printed on an upright oblong sheet with a heading comprising upright capital roman lettering coloured red and blue, overlain by a Union Flag, and flanked by yellow roundels containing crossed flags of allied nations. The handwritten names are in three columns for name, unit and biography respectively, however only one biographical note is given. The roll is mounted in a glazed wooden frame with moulded sides and a carved fleuron in each corner. The frame is surmounted by a plain frieze with raised centre panel and a moulded cornice at the top.

History and Conservation
c1920?: The roll was compiled and mounted in the church at Westhouses.

Unknown date: The church was recorded for the Derbyshire Historic Environment Record: Monument record MDR15101 - St Saviour's Church (also known as 'the Tin Tabernacle') (site of), Westhouses.

c1994-6. The church was closed.

March, 1995 to May, 1995: The church was dismantled and rebuilt at Swanwick Junction. It was re-erected with help from several people including supervisors and trainees from the Community Task Force and South East Derbyshire College.

18th February, 2008: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in poor condition; the paper roll was faded and stained, but it was cared for.
