Location details:
The memorial is on the western side of the road at the junction with Bywell La and Highfield Rd. The plaque is mounted on the wall at the rear of the compound, at the left corner.

Overall type: Plaque Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.


Description:

A rectangular cast metal plaque on a wooden backboard. The plaque has a plain raised border and the inscription is in raised upright block capital lettering.

The memorial is sited at the back of a paved compound containing three other war memorials and a supplementary plaque recording restoration details.

History and Conservation
2000: A major restoration project was made possible with the support of Kilburn Parish Council, Horsley Parish Council, Denby Parish Council, Amber Valley Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council, Friends Of War Memorials (London), Hanson Brick, 1st Horsley and Kilburn Scout and Guide Group, and the skills of James Beresford & Sons (Belper), Kevin James, builder (Stapleford), Kilburn Sandblasting, Park Engineering (Derby) and Harlight (Heanor).

27th August, 2008: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for.
