Description:
A temporary well dressing tableau traditionally made from vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame, but today often including pebbles, chippings, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised an upright oblong panel with triangular pediment and depicted a WW1 infantryman in silhouette standing by a war grave. The foreground had red poppies and other flowers and the background had a sun setting in a sky of pinks, blues and yellows. The inscription was placed in the pediment and was in black sentence case script.
The well dressing was displayed from 7th to 14th July 2018 and was subsequently dismantled.
