Description:
An addition to the lettering on a grey granite headstone on a family grave. The tall headstone has a pointed arch top with chamfered edges, recessed sides, a design of incised foliation at the head and a geometric pattern at the sides, and has the inscription incised in upright capital block lettering. The headstone surmounts an oblong granite base and rests on stone (possibly sandstone) kerbs that have the maker’s mark incised on the internal face.

ALSO OUR DEAR SON RICHARD PHELPS WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE JULY 1ST. 1916, AGED 21 YEARS. "DUTY NOBLY DONE." ALSO RICHARD PHELPS, FATHER OF THE ABOVE WHO DIED FEB. 23RD. 1927, AGED 60 YEARS. "REST IN PEACE."
