Description:
An addional inscription on a white marble memorial on a family grave comprising a cross on a three-stepped base accompanied by kerbs. The botonné cross has chamferred edges, an inlaid Christograph at the centre and the stem widens towards the base where it terminates with an oblong foot. The base comprises three oblong steps, each with a chamferred top and bearing inscriptions on the 12 o'clock face inlaid in upright and sloping capital block lettering, some of which is lost. A further foundation slab beneath the base has an inscription on its face. The plain oblong kerbs have no further inscriptions.

26th April, 2022: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot It was in fair condition overall but the lettering was very poor..

Comments |
The casualty is recorded by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as 2Lt Brian Edmund Kelly, 2nd Battn, York and Lancaster Regt who died on 2nd December, 1917. He had previously served as Pte 15291, Royal West Surrey Regt.
