Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An addition to the lettering on a CWGC headstone on a family grave. The limestone headstone has a shallow arch top, a badge of the Royal Engineers in relief at the head and an incised inscription in upright capital roman lettering. The grave also bears a white vase with an inlaid inscription in upright capital block lettering.

Although Spr J C Hart is named on this gravestone, this is his CWGC War Grave so it is not classified as a war memorial according to the definition adopted by most heritage organisations.
