Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An addition to the lettering on a headstone on a family grave. The tall sandstone headstone has a trefoil top, recessed sides, and an incised inscription in mainly upright capital lettering. The headstone surmounts an oblong base with a moulded top.

History
13th September, 2017: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition although some lettering was obscured by algae.
References
Picture the Past; Photograph NCCN001302 is reported to be of the Volunteer Company, Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire Regiment) prior to leaving the Depot at Normanton Barracks, Derby for foreign service in South Africa. The name list on the back includes two Goodlads.
