Description:

A framed and glazed roll of honour.
The roll is an upright oblong paper sheet and bears an image at the head comprising the flags of the allied nations. The text to each side is in black upright capital roman lettering and below it is the main heading in black sentence case gothic lettering with rubricated initials. Below that are nine columns, seven of which are occupied by the names written in capital upright black calligraphy with awards added in red and with a cross to the left of those who died. The roll seems to have been written in two stages: the first six and a third columns contain names grouped by initial letter but unordered within each group, and a further unordered half column. The whole is edged with ruled margins in red and blue.
The frame is of varnished oak moulding with a gilded border at the inner edge.
