Towards the western edge of the graveyard, on the left side when walking up the hill.

Overall type: Addition to gravestone.


Overall condition: Poor. The inscription is barely legible.


Description:

Additional lettering on a headstone on a family grave. The low limestone headstone has a shallow arch top with projecting shoulders, sprays of ivy leaves in the top corners, and an inlaid inscription in upright capital roman lettering. The headstone is accompanied by oblong limestone kerbs.

History and Conservation
October 1980: The memorial lies within the Old Matlock Conservation Area first designated in that month.

19th September, 2017: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in poor condition with moss accumulating on the kerbs and the headstone, although intact, very difficult to read.
