Description:
A traditional temporary well dressing tableau made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame. The dressing comprised a central recessed main panel flanked by side panels supporting an arch. The main biblical theme was supplemented by the commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the WW1 armistice on the side panels.
The central panel featured a depiction of Jonathan in a red robe loosing one of the three arrows as a signal while David, in blue, hid from King Saul. The two side panels each contained a depiction of a white cross in a war cemetery. The cross bore an inscription in black upright capital lettering while the green foreground bore red poppies and a further inscription in red upright capital lettering.

History and Conservation
|
Spring 2008: The memorial was planned, designed and constructed by members of the local community. It was blessed by the local clergy before being displayed for a week, probably in May, after which it was dismantled and the components salvaged for future use. During that period it was photographed by Glyn Williams
