Description:
Additional lettering on a headstone on a family grave. The limestone headstone has a shallow triangular arch top, recessed sides and bears the inscription inlaid in upright mainly capital lettering. The headstone has been detached and laid flat on the accompanying plain limestone kerbs.

DIED JULY 9TH. 1941 AGED 50 YEARS "HAIL GLADDENING LIGHT." ALSO OF PTE. ARTHUR FREDERICK ELLSON, 8201 R. W. FUSILIERS. DEARLY BELOVED SON OF THE ABOVE AND THE LATE ARTHUR ELLSON, OF CHESTER, BORN JUNE 1ST. 1886. KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE SEPT. 25TH. 1915, YOUR MEMORY HALLOWED IN THE LAND YOU LOVED.
