Description:

A traditional temporary well dressing display made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame.  The dressing comprised a single oblong panel with triangular arch top and depicted a group of British infantrymen in a coloured WW1 scene flanked in the foreground by white silhouettes of a pair of sentries against a black ground and standing by a carped bed of red poppies. At the foot the black inscription was in upright capital lettering on a pale brown ground and flanked by shields bearing the red cross of St George.
