Location details:
The church is on the north side of the road. The plaque is on the north wall of the the north aisle, towards the eastern end.
Type
Overall type: Plaque Overall condition: Very good. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.


Description:

A wall-mounted brass plaque. The square plaque bears an incised inscription in upright, mixed case roman lettering infilled in black. A broad moulded frame is of mottled black marble.

History and Conservation
13th September, 1967: The church was listed Grade II*, Heritage List for England number 1109768.

August 1991: The Snelston Conservation Area was designated. The church lies within it.

Unknown date, c1999: The plaque was installed in the church.

4th September, 2019: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in very good condition and cared for.

Comments
This plaque is considered to be a memorial because it commemorates a person who is identified as being a former member of HM armed forces. Although no dates are specified the service would have contributed to the defence of the country and is therefore similar in status to those identified on other memorials and widely accepted as having served and returned. The only difference is that in this case the conflicts are not identified.
