Location details:
The redundant church was converted to private apartments about 2015 and is now private property with no access available. The window has been retained in the north wall but is no longer accessible and is not visible from outside.
Type
Overall type: Window Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.


Description:

A stained glass lancet window in the north wall of the former church. The window comprises mainly plain oblong panes of pastel shades of blues, greens, pink or clear glass with a few clusters of decorative geometrical shapes in deeper colours, one of which, at the foot, contains an oblong panel bearing the inscription in upright capital roman lettering.

History and Conservation
c1919: The window was provided by Mr Joseph Ash, Mr Walter Slater and Miss Stocker.

29th February, 1920: The window was unveiled by Mr Walter Slater.

c1968: The church is reported to have closed.

1986: The Matlock Bank Conservation Area was first designated. The building lies within it.

c2014: The church was sold for conversion to residential accomodation.

20th February, 2016: The windows were photographed by Alan Piper when the church had been gutted prior to conversion to apartments. At that time it was in poor condition and had sustained some damage towards the top of the decorative display.

9th February, 2020: The window was viewed from outside. The design could not be discerned but the window appeared to be in fair condition with no obvious damage.
