Location details:
The well is on the western side of Edge Rd. The well dressing was attached to the railings which surround the well.

Description:

A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often utilising stones, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised a circular display bearing the side silhouette of the head of a serviceman wearing a cap. The background was pale blue with a white and black border; the silhouette was dark blue and the inscription above and below it were in grey, black and white upright capital lettering.

History and Conservation
6th September, 1993: The Eyam Conservation Area was extended. The memorial site lies within it.

Summer 1995: The memorial was planned, designed and constructed by members of the local community.

August 1995: The memorial was displayed: blessed by the local clergy; photographed by Glyn Williams: displayed for several days then dismantled and the components salvaged for future use.
