Location details:
The church is on the south side of Mayfield Rd at the junction with School La. The memorial is on the south wall of the chancel.
Type
Overall type: Tablet. Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.


Description:

A wall mounted upright white stone tablet with a pointed arch top, a border in the style of trefoil columns, a plain latin cross in relief at the head and a heraldic shield on the heavy oblong foot. A black stone backboard reflects the overall shape and has the mason’s name at the foot.

History and Conservation
Unknown date (c1860?): The memorial was procured and installed in the church. It was made by Hall of Derby.

15th June, 1951: The church was listed Grade I, Heritage List for England number 1207715

November, 1968: Ashbourne Conservation Area was first designated; the church lies within it.

22nd December, 2008: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson. It was in fair condition and cared for.

26th September, 2019: The memorial was resurveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for.
