Location details:
The church is on the north side of the road in the centre of the village. The cross is in the northwest corner of the churchyard, near the south door.
Type
Overall type: Cross Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.


Description:

A sandstone cross on a square pedestal, plinth and base. At the head of the 6 o'clock face is a circular design of interlaced strapwork in the Anglo-Saxon or Celtic style and the tapered shaft has a recessed panel with an inscription at the foot. The 3 o'clock face of the cross also has an inscription at the foot. The battered pedestal has a triple stepped top with rounded arrises and inscriptions in a recessed panel on the 6 o'clock face and on the plain surfaces of the 9 and 3 o'clock faces. The plinth has an inscription on the 6 o'clock face. The inscriptions and names are incised in upright capital lettering.

History and Conservation
August 1970: The Norbury Conservation Area was first designated, and the memorial lies within it.

15th September, 2011: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for.
