Location details: The church is at the junction of Bradford Rd and Alport La. The tablet is on the north wall of the north aisle.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.

|
Description:
A plain oblong white stone tablet in a mottled brown alabaster frame. The frame comprises a plain sub-frame with moulded edge adjacent to the tablet and set in an elaborate outer frame. The outer frame comprises pilasters with carved foliated panels, surmounted by a moulded cornice below a plain frieze with carved laurel wreaths at each side and a larger nowy-headed moulded cornice containing a carved shield, with a red cross of St George and mantling at the head. The foot of the frame comprises an inverted moulded cornice above a plain frieze and two foliated carved brackets. The lower frieze contains, at its centre, a subsidiary oblong tablet with moulded borders. The inscriptions on both tablets are incised in upright capital lettering coloured black.

History and Conservation

17th April, 1951: The Peak District National Park was designated: the church lies within it.
12th July, 1967: The church was listed Grade I, Heritage List for England number 1109853.
5th February, 1982: The Youlgrave Conservation Area was designated: the church lies within it.
26th September, 2008: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in good condition and cared for.
