Location details: The church is on the east side of Mapleton Rd near the junction with Yerley Hill. The tablet is inside, on the south wall of the nave. Mapleton Rd is also known as Ashbourne Rd. The village name is pronounced Mappleton and is so spelt on some modern maps but historically it was spelt Mapleton. No road names are given on Ordnance Survey maps and those used may not have been formally designated.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.

Description:
An oblong tablet on a grey backboard. The white marble tablet has a moulded border, a gilded laurel wreath at top left and the dedication top right. The names are in two columns and there is a quotation at the foot. The lettering is incised and coloured black: the dedication and names in black upright capital roman lettering, the quotation in lower case italics. The backboard is of mottled grey marble.

13th September, 1967: The church was listed Grade II* Heritage List for England number 1335265.
February, 1981: The Mapleton Conservation Area was first designated. The church lies within it.
20th November, 2009: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for.
26th September, 2019: The memorial was revisited by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It remained in fair condition and cared for.
