Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.

Description:

A wall mounted oblong bronze plaque on a wooden backboard. The plaque has a narrow raised border and an inscription in upright raised capital roman lettering with each name enclosed within a raised border with a small laurel wreath at each end. The plain wooden backboard has square edges.

History
c1920: The memorial is reported to have been made by the Birmingham Guild.

c1920: The memorial is presumed to have been installed in the public banking area of the Matlock branch of the London County Westminster and Parrs Bank.

1923: The bank name was changed to Westminster Bank.

1968: The Westminster and National Provincial Banks merged to become the National Westminster Bank Ltd, or NatWest.

2000: NatWest became a subsidiary of the holding company The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc.

c2010: The memorial was reported as being in storage.

3rd April 2017: The memorial was surveyed in the entrance porch by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and well cared for.
