Location details: The former bank was on the East side of the Market Place, between numbers 23 and 24. The memorial was in the public area, on the outside wall between the windows. The bank closed in 2015. |

| Description: A wall mounted oblong bronze plaque on a wooden backboard. The plaque has a narrow raised border and an inscription in upright raised capital roman lettering with the name enclosed within a raised border with a small laurel wreath at each end. History
c1920: The memorial is presumed to have been installed in the public banking area of the Wirksworth branch of the London County Westminster and Parrs Bank.
1923: The bank name was changed to Westminster Bank.
1968: The Westminster and National Provincial Banks merged to become the National Westminster Bank Ltd, or NatWest.
1989: Dale Rd Matlock lies within the Matlock Bridge Conservation Area first designated in that year.
2000: NatWest became a subsidiary of the holding company The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc.
30th November 2011: The memorial was surveyed at Wirksworth by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and well cared for.
24th September 2015: The Wirksworth branch closed and the memorial was removed, to be re-erected at the Matlock branch shartly afterwards.
3rd April 2017: The memorial was surveyed in the entrance porch at Matlock by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and well cared for.
