Location details:
The church is on the north side of the road. The memorial is inside, on the east pier of the north arcade.
Type
Overall type: Triptych Overall condition: Good. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.


Description:

An oaken panelled triptych containing a white alabaster tablet. When closed, the tall narrow single-panelled volets have no ornamentation, but when open they bear an emblem of a cockerel and crossed keys to the right and left respectively. The central panel is surmounted by a plain cavetto cornice and is divided into two panels. The upper third has a wooden panel bearing a gilded inscription in upright capital roman lettering. The lower two-thirds contains a glazed panel over a white alabaster tablet bearing delicate Moorish carving, with arcades and lattice windows in red, blue and gold and bearing Moorish texts. The three arches of the lower arcade have a crucifix at the centre and names on each side, inscribed in blue and black upright capital roman lettering. The main inscription terminates on the lower rail.

History and Conservation
Unknown date, c1920s?: The memorial was erected with the WW1 names listed in black lettering.

Unknown date, c1950?: The WW2 names and dates, and the WW1 dates were added in blue lettering.

13th September, 1967: The church was listed Grade II*, Heritage List for England number 1109768.

August 1991: The Snelston Conservation Area was designated. The church lies within it.

4th September, 2019: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in good condition and cared for.
