Location details:
The plaque is attached to the outside face of a stone wall adjoining the northwest corner of the main lodge building.
The B6521 runs roughly north-south and lies just to the west of Longshaw Lodge. At its southern end it is known as Main Road, Grindleford.
The main entrance to the National Trust property, however, is from Owler Bar Road, a spur of the A6187.

Description:

A long oblong cast metal plaque with a red cross emblem in a roundel at the top left and an inscription in upright capital raised lettering. The plaque is painted white with the cross in red and the roundel and lettering in black.

History and Conservation
17 April 1951: The Lodge lies within the Peak District National Park designated on that date.

19 February 1985: The Lodge was listed Grade II, Heritage List for England number 1109833.

July, 2013: The memorial was surveyed by Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for.

Comments
The plaque commemorates the casualties who were cared for at the hospital and the efforts of the staff, many of whom were volunteers.

The site now forms part of the National Trust's Longshaw Estate.
