Description:
A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame, but today often incorporating pebbles, textile or other materials. The dressing comprised an upright oblong panel with a triangular arch top and had a green oblong at the centre containing a large red poppy and eight white crosses. Around it were five further poppies and at the head was the date in brown upright figures, all on a yellow ground.

History and Conservation

17th April 1951: The memorial lies within the Peak District National Park designated on that date.
Summer 2014: The memorial was made and erected by members of the local community.
16th August, 2014: The memorial was blessed by members of the local clergy.
16th August, 2014: The memorial was photographed byGlyn Williams.
25th August, 2014 The dressing was dismantled and the components salvaged for future use.
