Description:
An addition to a memorial stone on a family grave. The memorial comprises a white marble headstone accompanied by kerbs. The headstone has a shallow arch top with lobed and hollowed shoulders but has been laid flat on the surface of the grave. It has a rose in relief in each lobe and bears an inlaid inscription in various styles of lettering. The oblong kerbs have narrow chamfered edges with inscriptions inlaid in upright capital lettering on the upper surface.

In Loving Memory of A DEAR HUSBAND AND FATHER JOHN WILLIAM LANE, AT REST DECEMBER 24. 1926. AGED 53 YEARS. "HIS END WAS PEACE." ALSO THE BELOVED WIFE OF THE ABOVE ROSA, AT REST JULY 14. 1948, AGED 72 YEARS. "JESUS IN THY TENDER KEEPING, LEAVE WE NOW OUR LOVED ONES SLEEPING."

History 11th November 2015: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. Although the headstone had been laid flat and the kerbs slightly displaced, it was in fair condition, neat, tidy, with fresh flowers and cared for.
