The church was on the eastern side of Normanton Rd between Rose Hill St and Loudon St and was demolished in 1991.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

A nowy-headed bronze plaque on a wooden backboard. The plaque has a hollow border with spaced fleuron motifs and a victor's wreath in relief at the head. The inscription at the head is in raised upright capital roman lettering and the names are arranged in three columns in raised upright capital block lettering. A further inscription at the foot is also in raised upright capital block lettering. The wooden backboard has a narrow moulded border.

History

1921: The plaque was acquired at a cost of £65 and is believed to have been installed in the church by July.

1989: The church closed and the plaque is believed to have been removed to the sports ground.

1991: The church was demolished.

29th January, 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in good condition.
