Location details:
The cathedral is at the junction of Iron Gate, Queen St and St Marys Gate. The well dressing was displayed in the south aisle.

Description:

A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often utilising stones, beads, fabric etc. The dressing depicted a Union Flag with the inscription superimposed, as perceived by members of Silverhill Primary School. The well dressing was displayed for a few days in Summer 2005 and was subsequently dismantled.

History and Conservation
20th June, 1952: The building was listed Grade I, Heritage List for England number 1228277.

October, 1987: The City Centre Conservation Area was first designated. The building lies within it.

Spring 2005: The dressing was designed and made by children of Years 5 and 6 of Silverhill Primary School and their helpers.

Summer, 2005: The memorial was photographed by Glyn Williams

Summer 2005: The dressing was dismantled.
