History and Conservation
Unknown date: The cross was installed on the south wall of the corridor. It was common for soldiers to erect makeshift markers on the battlefield grave of their colleages. When the permanent grave was established by the then Imperial War Graves Commission, and a stone was installed, the temporary grave marker was often offered to the family. It is assumed that this procedure was followed and the family subsequently gave the memorial to the school.

2nd April, 2024: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in good condition.
