Description:
A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often utilising stones, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised a triptych with pediment above, the three panels commemorating the RAF, the end of WW1 and the Derbyshire Federation of Women's Institutes respectively. The left volet bore red poppies and RAF roundels with the RAF inscription in white capital lettering. The main panel bore a full colour image of a war memorial bestrewn with red poppies with a dove of peace flying in the background against a rising sun illuminating a bright new dawn. The right volet was not part of the war memorial. The pediment bore a printed heading.
