Type

Overall type: Addition to gravestone.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.

Description:

An addition to the lettering on a sandstone monument on a family grave. The monument comprises a tall square pedestal with pilasters at each corner and recessed faces containing tablets bearing inscriptions. The pedestal surmounts a base with chamfered top, a lower plinth with moulded top and an upper plinth with chamfered top and battered panels at the centre of each face. Above the pedestal is a moulded capstone surmounted by a draped urn with integral base on a further base with chamfered top and a thin plinth with bevelled top. Three of the four tablets on the faces of the pedestal bear incised inscriptions in upright capital block lettering.
