Location details: The memorial is on the eastern side of the road. When the memorial was built, the road would have been the main route between Buxton and Stockport, numbered A6 in the 1920s, but in the 1970s the A6 was rerouted to the east leaving a short section of Buxton Road cut off and accessible only from its southern end at the junction with the A5004, also called Buxton Road. Royal Mail do not include Buxton Road in the postal address and all properties in the area are listed simply as Bridgemont.

Description:
A freestanding sandstone tablet of classical style within a small plot. At the head is a segmental pediment with moulded margins and a plain tympanum bearing the name. Below this a plain frieze bears the title and surmounts a wall, apparently monolithic, with a pair of plain attached columns, with capitals and bases, supporting the frieze. A raised panel occupies most of the centre of the wall and bears the names in two columns. A pair of pedestals support the two columns, and are infilled with a smaller tablet bearing additional names in a single column and the whole surmounts a plinth with moulded top. Inscriptions and names are incised in upright capital roman and block lettering. The memorial is flanked by low stone walls with iron railings to the road, and the contained space is paved. The maker's name is incised on the right pedestal.
