Description:
A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often utilising stones, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised three adjacent panels with a triangular pediment and a base. The central panel depicted an infantryman reclining on the base of a memorial cross in a churchyard with a spray of red poppies at the side. The pediment had a white dove of peace flying in a blue sky and the two side panels each bore a Union Flag and a white poppy of peace on a green ground. The base had the inscription in black upright capital block lettering on a white ground.
