Description:
An ivory coloured moulded bakelite plaque in an oaken frame accompanied by a brass plaque with inscription. The upright oblong plaque has a raised panel at the centre bearing a depiction of an advancing British soldier in battle dress and carrying a rifle with bayonet affixed. At the foot is a dedicatory statement and the badge of the British Army. The tablet is encased in a glazed oaken frame which has a brass plaque affixed at the foot bearing an additional inscription.

1944: The bakelite plaque was made by De La Rue Plastics
24th November, 1977: The hall lies within the Lullington Conservation Area first designated on that date
12th December, 1986: The hall was listed Grade II, Heritage List for England number 1334596.
26th June 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Anne Branson. It was in good condition and well cared for.

The Bakelite plaque specifically commemorates support for the "For Freedom War Savings Campaign", part of the National Savings campaign run for the government by Sir Robert Kindersley. It therefore recognises the hardships endured by the civilian population in support of the war effort.
